Aleah Epps

Aleah Epps first picked up a basketball at the age of 7 and hasn't put it down since. Her father Paul new right away he had something special brewing, already blessed with natural speed that had made her successful running track, Aleah seemed at home with the basketball in her hands. Listed at 5 foot 3 inches, Aleah is a defensive nightmare for opponents, as her lightning quick speed and low defensive stance allows her to get under players and rip the ball away before they even realized what had happened. Double digit steals are not uncommon for Aleah as according to her AAU coach of Alana Beard Future, Keith Chestnut, "she never stops working". Coach Chestnut praises Aleah for her leadership on and of the court as well as her consistency as he puts it "I know I can depend on her every game".

Aleah just entering the ninth grade at Archbishop Spalding she joins her AAU teammates Torri Chestnut and Camille Calhoun who as a treo has numerous AAU tournament, fall and winter league championships under their belts, and Aleah has made the all star team in virtually every one. If you ask her however which accomplishment she enjoyed most she would smile and tell you "that P.G. County Middle School Championship".  All the individual accolades are ok but "she wants to win", according to Chestnut "we have played teams all across the country and Aleah is in the top 3 point guards in this age group that I have seen period."
